About Our Client

Our client for the Chief Accounting Officer - Americas is a global manufacturer and supplier of equipment and technology servicing a wide range of industries including, but not limited to Food and Beverage, Industrial Manufacturing, Consumer Goods, Healthcare, Logistics and Warehousing and more. This organization has over locations in over 30 countries and revenues close to $5 Billion globally.

The Chief Accounting Officer - Americas will oversee all accounting activities for the Americas region and leading a total team of 30-40 people including the Shared Services Group. This role will report to the CFO of the Americas Region and work closely with various other stakeholders and heavy interaction with the executive leadership team and global parent company. This position is located in Western, Michigan and relocation is required. Relocation assistance is offered.

Job Description

Lead and serve as the Head of Accounting for the Americas regionManage and direct all general accounting and financial reportingResponsible for timely, accurate, and consistent reporting of financial information, including full monthly, quarterly and annual closing for the business unitDrive continuous improvement activities regarding accounting, reporting and processingManages journal entries, credit controls, and tax accounting functionsAssist the CFO in developing long-range strategic plansReport to executive management customer profitability and analysis of performance of results and variance vs budgetActively participate in Executive Management Team meetings; provide updates relating to Financials and other areas of responsibility.Oversee Treasury for the region working while also working with global treasury and global accounting teamsExecution of internal and external audits for the America's regional financial statementsOwn and oversee the regional month-end close and consolidation process though the monitoring of key accounts, reviewing regional results, preparing journal entries, and making sure timely uploading the resultsResponsible for risk management for the regionPerform ad hoc analysis and reports and present to executive leadership team for strategic decision makingOptimize core processes throughout the accounting organization to drive efficiencies and conform with professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with GAAP and IFRSEnsure accounting policies adhere to Group PoliciesOversees the organization internal controls and oversee audit of policies and proceduresDrive process improvement initiativesPersonnel evaluation and/or development of a strong accounting team driving performance while developing and growing team's skill sets. Support the CFO, Global CAO, and FP&A teams as neededTravel 20-30% as needed in the Americas region

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's Degree in AccountingMBA and/or CPA/CMA highly preferred10-15 years of experience in Accounting and Controllership Minimum 3 years of experience is a leadership roleStrong knowledge and experience with IFRS and GAAPPrior experience working in a multi-national company working with colleagues and stakeholders globallyProficient with all Microsoft Office applications and products, business intelligence systemsExtensive knowledge and experience working with large ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, etc.Prior experience managing a shared services group highly preferredBusiness minded and strong team player mentalityStrong communication skills written and verbalCreative and outside the box thinker.Strong work ethic and high attention to detail with a passion to win and positively influence a company cultureWhat's on Offer

Competitive base salary $165,000 - $205,000 depending on experience, bonus, full benefits, 401K, vacation, holidays. Being a part of a growing and innovative company with a seat on the leadership team with additional global growth opportunities.
